“PREALPITOUR H&F RACE” REGULATION
1st edition 2021
The “PREALPI-TOUR H&F race” is a paragliding “Hike and Fly” competition. The challenge is to walk
the planned itinerary, in the Triveneto Pre-Alps region, as quickly as possible, passing through the
“Turnpoints” established, using only paragliding and walking. This race is proposed with a format
which makes it accessible to sufficiently experienced pilots who aspire to experience the HIKE & FLY adventure.
1) PROGRAM
The duration of the event is 3 days, from 18 to 20 June 2021; in case of unfavorable weather forecast it is expected a
possible postponement to the following week (25, 26, 27 June):
• Thursday 17 June 2021 5.00 pm control of materials and punching 7.00 pm, BRIEFING (mandatory for all pilots), welcome party
• Friday 18 10.00 am START 9.00 pm STOP day 1
• Saturday 19 6.30 am START day 2 9.00 pm STOP day 2
• Sunday 20 6.30 am START day 3 5.30 pm STOP day 3 and END OF THE RACE 6.00 pm AWARDS GIVING
The race is stopped during the night, from 8.30 pm to 7.00 am.
The pilots must be followed by a SUPPORTER.
2) ORGANIZATION
• organizing committee: Para & Delta Club Feltre.
• race director: appointed by the organizing committee.
• race committee: consisting of the race director, one member of the organizing committee and two pilots elected by
the competitors among those proposed by the organization.
• Task of the tender committee: to decide on any appeals, to settle disputes between competitors, sanction with
penalties in distance (km) or time (h), validate the classification.
In case of particularly unfavorable weather conditions can reschedule the departure, change in start the race course or
stop the competition at any time during its course; for this eventuality the pilots and their assistants will be notified via
SMS.
3) PILOT
The following requirements are required:
• be at least 18 years of age.
• be in possession of the Ae.CI paragliding flight certificate
• have an insurance for paragliding
• be a member of the FIVL or of a similar foreign national paragliding federation
• be in possession of the “ippi card – level 5”.
• be in possession of a medical certificate for competitive sports (valid for athletics light or a sport that requires the
same physical requirements: eg. cycling, swimming, ultra-trail, etc.).
• pilots have full responsibility for their own decisions regarding walking and flying; in particular with regard to
flight conditions.
4) SUPPORTER
• each pilot must necessarily have a ground supporter with whom to be constantly in contact; the supporter will
thus always be aware of the position, the general conditions and all information relating to the safety of the
pilot; the pilot can eventually replace his assistant during the race, only after consulting the race direction.
• the supporter will help with his driver’s logistics and race strategy, but he will not be able to help him in transport
of his mandatory equipment; he will be the link between the organization and the rider and will have to be
constantly available with his mobile phone; in the event of an injury to the driver, if he needs treatment call for
help by contacting 118 (or 112 in Trentino) and immediately notify the organization.
• the supporter or the pilot must send the organization a daily report via SMS or e-mail, which it can be just a few
lines and contain information about the pilot. Sending photos and videos daily will allow the organization to
constantly update the social networks with news and images. The pilot e the assistant authorizes the
organization “PREALPI-TOUR H&F race” to use their images for photos, videos, articles, etc.
• Drivers and supporters undertake to leave no trace of their passage and to respect the environment.
5) EQUIPMENT
Mandatory certificate equipment:
• Paragliding: EN 926-2 and 926-1 or LTF 91/09
• Harness: EN 1651 (with certified protection and rescue system) or LTF 91/09
• Emergency: EN 12491 or LTF 91/09
• Helmet: EN 966 and EN 1077
• GPS whose track must have at least 1 point for every minute in the air and 1 point for every 200 m on the
ground; every pilot must provide adequate equipment to download GPS tracks. Furthermore, the pilot must
always carry with him during the entire competition period, both in flight and during the walk
• Survival kit: elastic bandage, plaster, thermal blanket, whistle for signals, smoke signal (visible in case of
emergency in remote areas)
• Mobile phone with the number communicated to the organization
• Live Tracker (paid by the organization), but by the pilot as regards the recharge of batteries.
• GPS, the track format of which must be IGC UTM WGS84
The race committee can inspect a rider’s equipment at any time.
Strongly recommended equipment: gloves, raincoat, telescopic poles, compass, knife, sun protection. The radio is
recommended for safety.
• Live Tracker: through the Live Tracker the organization will check the competitor in real time for the entire
competition period; however, this will not necessarily constitute proof of the path taken; the GPS track, if
required by the organization, will be able to certify the route taken by the pilot.
6) PATH
Each Turnpoint, to be considered achieved, will have to be proven by a selfie in which it appears the pilot
together with the scoreboard; however, it will also be necessary to put your signature on the board, for
validate it.

– Turnpoint 1: malga Campet – monte Avena (quota 1412 m) 46°01’58” N 11°49’37” E
– Turnpoint 2: Serot refuge – Roncegno (quota 1566 m) 46°04’24” N 11°23’17” E
– Turnpoint 3: malga Foraoro (quota 1376 m) 45°47’28” N 11°29’01” E
– Turnpoint 4: malga Piz – monte Grappa (quota 1435 m) 45°53’12” N 11°50’58” E
– Turnpoint 5: Posa Punèr refuge (quota 1334 m) 45°57’09” N 12°03’18” E
– Turnpoint 6: Bristot refuge (quota 1616 m) 46° 4’20″N 12°17’43″E
– GOAL: Val di Lamen (altitude 728 m) 46 ° 04’08 “N 11 ° 52’30” E recording of the race time
at the entrance to the cylinder with a radius of 1500 m; however, the arrival point must be reached by playing the bell,
taking the selfie and signing the “finish” board.
7) REGISTRATION
The pre-registration will open on Wednesday 06th January 2021 and will end on Sunday 28th February 2021; the preregistration must be submitted by filling out the form, available on the facebook and instagram event pages, fill in every
voice.
A maximum of 55 drivers will be admitted to the race; the list of those admitted will be made official on 28th March
2021; each admitted driver will receive confirmation of registration via e-mail.
From the moment of confirmation, to validate the registration each driver will have to pay the entire fee
registration of 140 € by Sunday 4 April 2021, complete the pre-registration data and attach a photo.
The registration fee includes:
• Live Tracker for safety and control of the race.
• welcome party
• final dinner
• gadgets for all participants
8) REGULATION
• Competition rules: Drivers must bring their mandatory equipment with them at all times of the race.
The pilot is allowed only one set of equipment during the 3 days of competition; in case of damage, it can be
replaced the equipment only after consulting the race direction. The pilot must fly in weather conditions
appropriate to his level, also taking into account the fatigue; he is responsible for his choices and undertakes
not to expose himself to possible dangers.
• Movement rules: Pilots can only complete the route on foot or by paragliding; any other form of displacement is
prohibited. Paths along steep and dangerous ridges are prohibited. It is not allowed to travel any tunnel or cross
railway and motorway networks. The pilot must observe the rules of the highway code as a pedestrian.
• Flight rules: the violation of the PROHIBITED AIRSPACE will result in the immediate disqualification of the
pilot; all pilots are obliged to respect the PROHIBITED ZONES defined by the organization and the rules of the
VFR (Visual Flight Rules); anyone who violates the VFR rules assumes full responsibility.
• Sanctions: the competition committee reserves the right to assign sanctions according to the gravity and
intentions. A penalty may also be imposed if the jury considers the behavior of a driver has been dangerous for
his health (excessively strong weather conditions, wind, storms, etc.); this penalty can be applied during the race
or even at the end, after checking the tracks.
• Ranking: it will be drawn up on the basis of the arrival order of the drivers at the goal; in the event that a
competitor does not complete the whole path, will enter the ranking based on the distance left to reach the Goal,
considering the point where the driver is at the time of the conclusion of the race, at 16.00 on Sunday, regardless
of whether it is on the ground or in the air. The unofficial ranking will be drawn up taking into account the data
obtained from Live Tracking.
• Times: during the competition days two distinct periods are identified, race time between 7:00am and 8.30 pm it
is mandatory to turn on the Live Tracker and GPS; neutralization time from 8.30 pm to 7 am the following morning
the drivers must stop the race e reload tools. When a driver wants to restart the race, he must reactivate his
Live Tracker and the GPS within 200 meters of the last point before the interruption of the previous
evening. Pilots always have to stop the race between 8.30 pm and 7 am.
The START and STOP of the LIVE TRACKER and the GPS is the only responsibility of the pilot, who is also
responsible for RECHARGING its tracking devices. Break or modify the Live Tracker may entail sanctions; in case of
damage to the device, the deposit (200 €) will not be returned.
9) SAFETY
• At the end of each day of competition all pilots must report their position personally, or through their supporter,
via SMS no later than 9 pm. This will prevent the organization from doing start the search and rescue
operations. Failure to report safety will be considered an error serious with consequent disqualification of the
pilot. In case of withdrawal from the race, the driver or his assistant must notify the organization immediately.
• Emergency: when the pilot reaches the ground he must immediately fold the paraglider. A paraglider not bow
on the ground or half open indicates: “I need help”. The pilot in flight near a pilot in difficulty is required to give
assistance or warn the rescue by all possible means. The competition committee it will eventually assign an
additional bonus score to the pilots who will help those who need it.
• In the event of an accident:
o Phase 1: To start the emergency you must immediately notify 118 (112 in Trentino).
o Step 2: The pilot or supporter must inform the organization as soon as possible in order to adopt the
adequate measures.
• The organization declines any and all responsibility for accidents or damage to persons and things, which should
happen before, during and after the event.
