One of the largest and longest-running free flight clubs in Italy, it has more than 200 members and is involved in many activities to promote the sport. Two above all are the Guarnieri Trophy, a now historical competition (the first edition dates back to 1984), and the 2017 World Paragliding Championships.

Before 1990, hang-gliding pilots – active in the Feltre area since the mid-1970s – were united in the ‘Volo Libero Feltre e Primiero’ club, while pilots of the new paragliding discipline formed the spontaneous ‘Parapendio Feltre’ group.
In 1988, the 5th edition of the ‘Adriano Guarnieri Trophy’, due to the European Hang Gliding Championships being held in Alpago, changed its venue from Dolada to Mount Avena, and included in its programme the paragliding category, which was then in its first days; after two editions held in Feltre with great success, it had become necessary to formalise in some way the fruitful collaboration that united the two groups of pilots in the organisational commitment that had by then found an important place in the international free flight calendar; moreover, at that point, the two groups could not avoid sharing the passion that was beginning to fill the skies over Feltre with coloured sails: it was then that a single, formally constituted association was created, in 1990: the ‘PARA&DELTA Club Feltre’.
The association’s first ‘uber partes’ president was a non-pilot: the then vice-mayor of Fonzaso, Renzo Zollet, who proved to be very cooperative in supporting the organisation of the event, which had its operational centre and landing at the ‘Tonello Zampiero’ villa in Arten. The ‘Guarnieri Trophy’, which was first held in 1984 as a national competition, soon became an important international event and in its several editions a paragliding world cup stage; in 2017, at its 34th edition, it was awarded to the winner of the first world championship held in Italy.
